FOR GOODNESS SAKE
Thursday 14 September 2006
Sometimes I really truly believe it would be easier to live ina 3rd world country rather than Southampton.
Today it is chucking it down. The rainfall is very heavy granted but it's not the first time weather like this has occured in England. It happens every year.
My bus after getting to its 'I have to wait here for 15 minutes for no good reason at all' stop in town, "broke down". By "broke down" I mean the bus driver turned to us and said 'My windows keep steaming up and I can't possibly carry on the journey'. Excuse me? Can I get a What? The? Fuck?!
So I had to wait for the next bus to continue my journey to work. On getting upon the next bus the driver told us ' I'll try and get as far as I can but driving with the windows steaming up is very dangerous'. To that one of the passengers said he'd stand for the journey and wipe the windows down with some paper towel.
I actually cannot believe what I witnessed today. Never in my 12 years of getting public transport have I ever seen and heard such shite. I mean honestly how are buses in Southampton not prepared for this? It really isn't the first fucking time it has ever rained heavily here!
In better news - I've lost a further 3lbs which means I am only 1/2 lb away from my goal weight!! Wooooo!

they made my shoes get wet though Rad. I've been squelching in them all day.
We drove over the pennines with no windscreen wipers. He's a pussy.
Oh btw, they've blocked your site at my old job now (a few ppl read it from there, they found it through mine, I'm sorry). Category for blockage: "adult interests". Draw your own conclusions.

Posted by: Celeste at September 15, 2006 02:28 AMThat's all well and good saying "Hello" to all my ex workmates, but they can't read it ;)
Posted by: Rhys at September 15, 2006 03:34 AMWhen I was at school our bus stopped in the middle of summer on a bone dry day for 2 1/2 hours because the windscreen wiper was broken, I hate public transport.

Well done on the weight loss girly girl! :)
I think the drivers must be making some kind of point about inadequate ventilations systems. I know I would.
