SURFS UP

Monday 25 September 2006

Oh. My. God.

I had the most amazing weekend I have ever had in my life ever (ok maybe not ever but certainly up there right next to the weekend where I pulled a guy who now stars in Holby City and we had sex all night long - ahem).

This weekend was a spontaneous weekend. In fact I only decided to go 20 minutes before the boys were going to head off. I got home from work on Friday and Colin, Mike and Mark were packing the car up with their wetsuits and weekend gear. As it was my last weekend in Southampton I was a bit disappointed that no one was going to be around. Colin convinced me to come and I ran upstairs and shoved some stuff in a small bag and off we set.

The drive down was hilarious. It took us 3 and half hours due to traffic but we passed the time by listening to classic Michael Jackson and then brushing up our German by listening to 'Sprichst Deutsch' (apologies for spelling - I did get a B in GCSE German but that was 6 years ago). I don't think there is anything stranger than 4 young adults in a car saying 'Guten Morgen' after the rather posh English lady tells you to.

We got to Woolacombe, Devon at around 10.30 and went straight out to Captain Jacks which has to be the best pub in all the world. Inside the decor was strictly pirate! Chunky wooden tables, barrels for seats and other piratey bits. There we met with Russell and Dani and our hosts for the weekend John and Polly who live in Woolacombe. When time was called we all trundled down toe 'The Jube' short for the Jubilee where there was a live band. Dani and I thrashed the boys in a game of table football and a good time was had by all.

At around 2.30 we got chucked out fo the Jube and ambled back to Polly and Johns. Sharing a room with one bloke is bad enough but sharing with 3 blokes is quite the adventure. The snoring, farting and night time mumbles are certainly an experience!

Saturday was spent ambling around the village and going for a very long walk. The landscape is stunning down there! We were so lucky with the weather as it was scorching on Saturday. We later sat out on the decking with blissful views over the golden beach and shimmering blue sea, sipping Pimms and being entertained by Colin and Mike playing their guitars.

So far it had been a chilled, very relaxing break. This all changed on Saturday night. After gorging on pizza we all headed into the village. We started at Captain Jack's again and booze was flowing very nicely. It was there where we met a group of surfies down for the weekend (there was a surfing competition of some sort) and they were quite hammered. Two of them took a liking to Dani and I. Great for me not so good for Dani - she's married. They were totally mad. By kicking out time I was nicely ticking and receiving strange text messages from a certain blogger.

After Jacks we all headed to the club next door for some boogying which is where all the fun started. Dani and I decided it would be great fun to have shots with our drinks so everytime we went to the bar we ordered our drink along with an After Shock. Colin was also buying me shots as he saw it as a personal challenge to see me drunk - I hardly drink.

When a sufficient amount of booze was consumed Dani and I hit the dance floor where low and behold the group of surfies were. Here folks I was challenged to my first ever dance off (think Starsky and Hutch - in the disco). It started as a laugh between dani and I and two of the surfies but we were so great that the other people on the dancefloor actually crowded around us. Hilarious. Dani and I managed to win by doing synchronised squat thrusts and bumping bums when we were upright. We must've done about 30 odd. We staggered back home at around 3.30 and sat on the decking giggling about the night.

Sunday was far more pleasant than I ever imagined. I thought I would be feeling utterly dreadful but I woke up feeling great. I walked into the village to get some silly gifts for my mum and sisters and for a general mooch around.

At 4pm we decided to head home. The traffic was a bit of a nightmare but we passed the time by playing silly games and the boys trying to get me to answer questions about sex. Colin then decided as I have never seen stonhenge before that we should visit it enroute. By the time we got there it was closed and we had to walk along a fence to see the ancient rocks in the dark.

I just had such a fantastic time and it's so nice to feel so happy. I feel really refreshed and like I've been away for ages.

I'm really going to miss my Southampon pals they are lovely but I'll be down frequently when I'm settled in London. Mel will kill me otherwise!

NB - Photos of the weekend will be uploaded onto my Flickr site later today - I'm debating on uploading a couple of the videos taken....

Sounds like a good weekend. I know what you mean about feeling refreshed, I feel exactly the same after this weekend's exploits too, which is wierd as I've had like about 3 hours sleep!

A weekend well deserved. Good on ya.

Thank you Boy. I really feel great after it. I really needed it. I'm not able to go on holiday this year as I'm still paying off the last one but a few weekend breaks like that will be fab. I spent £40 on the weekend, not bad at all.

squat thrusts at a dance off? Dear god, are they on the video?!

Glad you sent Southhampton off with a bang girl. xx

Luckily no they aren't on video! Though there is a bizarre video of Colin filming himself doing weird faces and then turning the camera on me more specifically my cleavage and zooming in and out.

Welcome back Silk hunny - in your absence Nugget and I have been discussing our future threesome - he's agreed to watch and let us get on with it....

Hee hee hee hee

Ha ha ha. There were some awesome dancing moves. I'm pretty gutted they weren't captured. I'm sure when I visit SOuthampton, Dani and I will attempt to recreate that night. We are in discussions about it!
