THE SCIENCE OF HANGOVERS

Sunday 18 March 2007

You see I've realised that I don't actually get hangovers - what the killer for me is a the pure lack of sleep. If I drink a load and get a good few hours sleep in a comfy bed in a quiet room I'm fine. If I say, go to a St Patricks Day party and don't go to sleep until around 5am and then sit lay and chat for ages and then wake up at 9am that's when I feel peaky.

I'm sure the reason I feel squiffy has no relation to the 7 jelly shots, 4 green cocktails Mel made me and that huge Baileys at 3am I consumed. But what a stonkingly great night. I had a fantastic time. It was brilliant seeing my friends again - they are brilliant. I've been feeling a little lonely the past few days mainly due to the fact I was house bound for the first few days of last week and I get bored very easily. I've had a few things on my mind and having time to myself is rubbish when I'm in a reflective mood. I think far too much and act on things I'd normally shrug off. So this weekend was thouroughly needed.

I'm sure you are all on the edge of your seats wondering what I went as (See below post) and please don't get too excited as you probably really needed to be there to fully appreciate the genius that was my costume. I went as .........The Corrs! Yes all four of them! I dressed as one of them and the rest of the band I made into finger puppets!!! (Mu Nu still won't let me upload images so you'll have to check out my Flickr account -cast your eyes to the right.) Fucking Genius. I narrowly missed out on winning the best costume but the Ninja Turtle deserved it.

Right - off to soak in the bath - I'm hoping the booze will just wash away.

Someone want to scrub my back?

Would love to ;)

St Patricks day was amazing, me and my mates started the night by each buying four pints (at once) of guiness for the hats, we also got these spiffy guiness beer carriers, not to mention a load of different beer mats and a big st patricks banner (Though i dont think the bouncer was too happy when we ran past him carrying that!)

very nice costume. i did drink far too much on Saturday... then slept far too much on sunday. I want to have a fancy dress party now :(

I'm up for scrubbing.

Bloke goes to a fancy dress party, but gets stopped at the door. Bouncer says you can't come in, you need to be in fancy dress. Bloke says I am, I am a Ninja Turtle. Bouncer says what about the girl on your back. Bloke says that's Michelle.

Boom! Boom!

Oli - I waited and you didn't show up - my bath was freezing in the end! ;-) Nice 'finds' btw

Ryan - I adore fancy dress parties. I need more of my freinds to have them.

SuaveGarve - Great - the kitchen and bathroom floor need doing.... dreadful joke.

Tilesey - I'll email you later tonight - my work server won't allow me to upload photos so i don't get the error message. Thanks!

I love fancy dress! Yours is rather creative. Bravo!

I generally just go as a pirate/ninja/schoolgirl. Something easy.

And I win because I'm still hungover from Saturday.
