BONZA MATE! FAIR DINKUM!
Monday 6 November 2006
I have had the best weekend ever!
I had such a great time.
This weekend I was an honourary Aussie. Myself, Brooke and Don and a couple of other Aussie chaps headed to Cardiff to watch Wales V Wallabies in rugby.
The match was fantastic - if a little disappointing at the end - we could've won if we'd taken the friggin' penalty! Why? Why? Why?
The three of us dressed in green and gold and in possesion of a blow up wallaby were sat in a sea of Welsh supporters (the other small group of Aussies were on the other side of the stadium) and I have to say I was very husky on Sunday after screaming and cheering so much. I've been to a few football matches and I have to say I prefer rugby. We got stick everytime Wales scored and we gave it back when the Aussies scored and there was no malice in it. Just friendly rivalry.
The atmosphere in the city that night was brilliant. At one point after leaving the Cardiff walkabout, Brooke, Don and I were heading to another club, a bunch of Weslh supporters were walking towards us. One of them just grabbed me, threw me over his shoulder and walked off down the road! Soooo funny! They offered to give me back to Don and Brooke for a photo of me and Brooke wrapped in a Welsh flag - I nearly didn't make it back with Brooke and Don! Hee hee hee.
Sunday was spent walking around Cardiff. I really like Cardiff it's a lovely city. Cardiff castle is gorgeous.
I have loads of pictures which I'll upload if I ever find a place to live. Some really good pictures - I'm in pigtails!
All in all a sick (Aussie slang for great) weekend mate. Crikey! Bonza! I want to marry an Australian!!!!!

Yup - we got loads of stick but we gave it right back. My throat still actually hurts.
There's a good saying that goes with this - Rugby is a game played by hooligans and watched by gentlemen. Football is a game played by gentlemen (although can't call Rooney one!) watched by hooligans.
I've just remembered that I'm supposed to email you directions to my office for our "date" on Thursday!!! Hee hee.
Will send it ASAP!

Glad you had a sick weekend. Throw another snag on the barbie etc you dag, and then you can rack off.

That's what I prefer about Rugby, no malice in the stick you get and receive. I've been to a few rugby games, was sat in the England end of the Millennium Stadium when we gloriously beat them 11-9 :), whilst they were miserable, they shook our hands and said it was a good game. Doubt you'd get that in England Football Team.
